As my family would tell you, there’s never been a time in my life where I wasn’t acting. In 2018 I graduated from Samford University with a degree in Journalism and a cognate in theatre and film, and I began employment as a Teaching Artist with the Tony Award-winning Red Mountain Theatre Company in Birmingham, Alabama. A year later, my husband and I moved to Atlanta and I had the amazing opportunity to work as a Teaching Artist for both Forefront Arts and the Alliance Theatre, another Tony Award-winning theatre.
Through Forefront Arts, I directed a full length production of Frozen Jr. at Parkside Elementary, and taught on-camera acting classes (privately and in groups) to elementary aged children. Currently as a Teaching Artist at the Alliance Theatre, I virtually teach on-camera acting and improvisation summer camps for students all the way from elementary to high school. I am a firm believer that acting is a beautiful way to empower and uplift, which is why I created a drama ministry program with Wellspring Living in Atlanta, an organization that rehabilitates survivors of human trafficking.
While I’m not acting or teaching acting, a few things that bring me joy are eating at quality restaurants, traveling any chance I get, and, of course, watching plenty of movies. Suffice it to say, too much acting is not in my vocabulary.
